Bad weather in Veneto. A violent storm it hit at lunchtime on Thursday 18 April 2024 on the A4, in the stretch between Verona and Vicenza, in particular between the Montecchio Maggiore and Montebello toll booths, causing slowdowns. At the moment there are no reports of damage to cars, but damage to crops needs to be assessed, in particular those linked to flowering trees.
The wave of bad weather that is crossing the Northeast shows no signs of abating and temperatures are continuing to drop. The video shot on the motorway by our reader Arianna Calzavara, which gives a good idea of what happened.
All whitewashed
The hailstorm affected the western side of the province of Vicenzain particular the municipalities of Brendola And Montecchio Maggiore. The hailstorm, initially mixed with water but then “dry” and intense, completely whitened the landscape.
