Costa Coffee debuts in Italy in Rome Fiumicino

Costa Coffee, British coffee chain founded in 1971 by Italian brothers Bruno And Sergio Costa, inaugurated its first restaurant at Fiumicino airport in Rome. It is the result of an agreement with Autogrill which thus brings the British partner, present in over 50 countries, also to Italy.

The coffee is obviously at the center of the offer of the new venue which, in addition to Signature Blendpresents a diversified choice of hot and cold drinks, including vegetable ones (plant-based). Italian espresso, cappuccino, tea, chocolate and cold coffee, but also smoothies (smoothed fruits and vegetables with the addition of water and low-fat yogurt, ed), vegan drinks and milkshake. Wide also the selection of dessertssuch as croissants, cakes and muffins, and savory products (wraps, sandwiches and bagels).

“With this new opening in Fiumicino we continue our process of consolidation in the airport channel, which represents an important segment of our business and where, given the high number of travellers, it is necessary to respond to multiple needs with an evolved approach and an offer constantly updated” comment Luca D’Alba, General Manager Italy F&B of Avolta.

It was the Costa brothers’ love for Italian coffee and the impossibility of finding it in their new homeland, England, that gave birth to Costa Coffee –tells Sam O’Brien, managing director Emena of Costa Coffee. Their entrepreneurial spirit and Italian heritage continue to inspire us every day to imagine new experiences for coffee enthusiasts around the world.”
