He achieved victory in the “Truck” category of the 2024 Fenix Rallywinning the prologue and every single stage of the race (7 out of 7), the Eagle Racing Team of driver from Brescia Paolo Calabria (CMC Industries)with Giuseppe Fortuna (president of Valfer) and Loris Calubini.
The competition was held from April 9th to 17th Tunisiawith prologue (Djerba-Djerba) and 7 stages starting from Djerba and returning on April 17th to the same location, after crossing the sands of the Sahara (with stages in Douz and Ksar Ghilane).
The team worked for over a year on the assembly of the special MAN 12,800 cc 800 HP vehicleequipped with a new one chassis with increased wheelbase (the sheets were made in Vicenza and the assembly in Brescia), special steel leaf springs with geometry designed for this vehicle and new axles with disc brakes supplied by Meritor, an American company also based in Italy.
In recent years, the crew has participated in 7 editions of the Dakar and several rally raids in Europe. «Surely – they say – we will also participate in the next edition of the Fenix Rally».
In the 2024 calendar, the MAN of the Eagle Racing Team also plans to participate in the Desafío Ruta 40, in Argentina, in June, and in the Rally du Maroc in October (both events valid for the world championship). To then line up at the start of the Dakar 2025.
