Good news in Bisceglie regarding the restoration of paid parking areas, whose service was interrupted on November 1st. With decision number 72 signed yesterday, the Municipality awarded Gestopark Srl, with registered office in the Ligurian town of Albissola Marina, the management of paid parking, integrated systems for monitoring, controlling the parking and traffic system in the city area for the duration of twelve months plus any two extensions.
“The contract was awarded following an evaluation of the technical and economic offer for an amount of approximately 187 thousand euros per year (plus VAT), essentially translated – we read in the press release issued by the Administration – in more advantageous conditions compared to to the past and in a significantly higher expected collection for the municipal coffers, which can be used for services useful to citizens”.
Meanwhile, the verification of possession of the requirements required by the National Anti-Corruption Authority has already begun. After verification of the documentation, the contract will be signed, functional to the resumption of the service within a few weeks and in any case by June, in order to allow a greater rotation of paid parking spaces, as requested on several occasions in recent months by residents and traders, and better usability of the center and the busiest areas of the city.
The management of the one-year service by Gestopark should represent the prelude to insourcing, an orientation expressed by the Municipal Administration in order to create further economic-financial benefits and in the organization, which would be entrusted to the Bisceglie Approdi company.
