Ragusa city councilors Federico Bennardo, Rossana Caruso and Sebastiano Zagami registered a question yesterday to obtain updates on the progress of the implementation project of the eight new totally electric school buses, financed through the “Climate Decree”.

Following the announcement of Mayor Peppe Cassì on 9 March 2023, which underlined the success of the Municipality of Ragusa in placing itself in first place in the ranking of the ministerial tender, obtaining 1,248,000 euros of funding, the councilors expressed their full support to this important initiative which will significantly improve the sustainability of school transport. The question presented, in fact, aims to clarify the details relating to the current progress in the car purchasing process, the expected timing for their commissioning and any difficulties encountered which could influence the timing or effectiveness of the project.

Councilors highlighted the importance of receiving detailed information in order to adequately monitor and support progress towards greener and more sustainable school transport. “Through our request – declare Bennardo, Caruso and Zagami – we wish to know the state of the art and we are committed to promoting the ecological transition in Ragusa, underlining the importance of integrating environmental and educational considerations into municipal services. We are confident that the administrators addressed to our question, the mayor Cassi and the councilors Catia Pasta, Mario D’Asta and Giovanni Gurrieri, will respond within the times established by the municipal regulation. We make ourselves available to offer any further support necessary to facilitate the completion of this process which is so important for the future of our Municipality”.
