Yesterday the municipal council approved the resolution that establishes the urban planning guidelines for the next one From the Ara. This is a system that will almost double the estimated volume. This is confirmed by today’s edition of The Republic, which informs that a press conference called by Mayor Lepore was held yesterday afternoon at Palazzo d’Accursio, in which Claudio Fenucci was also present. As reiterated by the rossoblù CEO, the temporary Caab stadium will take a year of work, while we will have to wait two for the Dall’Ara restyling. Meanwhile, work on the Antistadio will begin in June.
Restyling Dall’Ara, it’s a hunt for investors
“Forms all to be studied”. These are the words of Fenucci who refers to the search for public and private investors to be able to support the costs of restructuring the new stadium. One of the strategies for cashing in relies on the 2032 European Championships which will be played between Italy and Turkey, in which the stadium Bologna is a candidate as one of the host facilities. While the rossoblù will play at the Dall’Ara again next year, the knot linked to financial issues still remains to be resolved given that construction prices have grown significantly and there are no certainties about the total costs. A situation full of unknowns, as is that linked to the temporary Caab plant. Although there are several fundamental aspects still to be defined, yesterday a great step forward was made at a bureaucratic level and Lepore spoke about this as follows: “it’s one thing to say things, another thing to do them, and with this resolution we demonstrate that we do them.” How to find the money to finance the restyling? Dall’Ara will keep the same name but will be looking for an important sponsor.
The new Dall’Ara of the future
The idea is to carry out the two projects simultaneously: Dall’Ara and the temporary stadium, and then deal with the public tender. First, however, it will be necessary to obtain authorization from the Superintendence for the seismic adaptation project on the Maratona tower which will have a transparent part in front. The metal structure that dates back to the 1990 World Cup will be eliminated, the Curves will be 6.4 meters from the pitch and the Distinti at 5.4, while the current seating capacity of 36,500 will be increased to 30,140. A true masterpiece is expected for the Dall’Ara restyling, but before we can enjoy the beauty of the new completed project, we read in La Repubblica, it will still take years.
