An abandoned city park in a not-so-easy neighborhood; a group of boys and girls between 8 and 10 years of age; a coach, a coach who believes in them and in the value of sport, as well as the institutions that support and motivate these young athletes. Thus began the history of the Bari inline hockey team.

«The path of the under 12s of the Bari inline hockey team made up of boys and girls aged between 8 and 10 began three years ago – says the president of Municipality 1, Lorenzo Leonetti. A journey that began with last place, and ended on Sunday with an overall first place in the under 12 zonal championship.” The zonal championship saw teams such as Palermo, Civitavecchia, Castelli Romani and Velletri. And once they have won the zonal championship they now await the quarter-finals. «They will be held in the city of Asiago on May 1, 2024 – continues Leonetti – and our team will play against the hosts, the Asiago Vipers, a team accredited to pass the round and participate in the final six where the Italian Champion will be decided».

A sporting reality born in the Ecopoli park of Japigia. «A difficult place from a social point of view that wins in the sporting world – Leonetti is keen to underline -. I am proud of this sports club made up of athletes, managers and families who believe in the potential of our city and in the value of sports as a tool for social improvement. The little ones from Rolling’skate will give it their all, we will try to raise the name of our city and Bari and we institutions have the duty to always be at their side. I will fight – he concludes – so that these sports disciplines can have all the conditions to continue to grow.”
