The news linked to an alleged agreement between the Region and the University of Palermo for the establishment of a fourth hospital in Caltanissetta are not based on Fratelli d’Italia.
FdI’s denial
In a note, the exponents of Meloni’s party maintain that “it is in truth a conspicuous clinicalization of hospital departments and an expansion of the training network of the University of Palermo, which has nothing to do with the establishment of a university hospital for the creation of which should first of all be done through legislation with the amendment of law number five of 2009”.
Indeed, Fratelli d’Italia senses the smell of elections behind this affair, as, in June, there will be local elections in Caltanissetta. “We read, not without amazement, also because we understand the reasons linked to the imminent electoral deadlines, that the Region would be willing to set up a new polyclinic in the Sant’Elia company in Caltanissetta” they explain from FdI.
FdI, “Enna will have the Polyclinic”
According to Fratelli d’Italia, Enna’s possibilities of having the Polyclinic are very concrete. “In Enna there is a medical faculty of the Kore University and an additional foreign medical faculty. In no antithesis with the legitimate claims of other territories, we are convinced that the university vocation of the Enna area cannot help but see the presence of a university hospital recognized in this territory”.
The appeal to the regional councilor Volo
FdI launches an appeal to the regional health councilor, Giovanna Volo, so that the Policlinico affair can be dealt with with all the actors involved.
“The Region will have to indicate the forms, overcoming – say FdI – the current state of paralysis in which the regional health machine finds itself when issues of strategic importance for the territories have to be addressed. For this reason we invite Councilor Volo to engage in greater discussion, necessary at this point, with the territories because there cannot be alchemy of any kind on certain choices, even more so when they appear evident and natural”
Fratelli d’Italia will keep the attention high by asserting reasons of objectivity and starting from the two existing university centers, which in a possible legislative choice it would be unthinkable to ignore”.
