Tennis. Cus Ferrara secures salvation in the women’s Serie C

Thanks to the 4-0 success against Tc Massalombarda obtained on the courts of via Gramicia, Cus Ferrara tennis achieves the desired salvation in the national women’s Serie C championship. Maintaining the category was the objective set at the beginning of the year by coach Ferdinando De Luca who decided to focus exclusively on athletes born and raised sportingly within the Cussino nursery, without looking for reinforcements elsewhere and the choice proved to be a winning one.

The top team of the Salvi project as regards pink tennis has been busy the young Under 17 class of 2007 Elena Ravani and Martina Ronconi, with the class of 1999 Martina Scagliarini.

Returning to the decisive match, the first singles saw Martina Ronconi’s victory 60/62 over the very young promise Ilinka Cilibic. Martina played a flawless match, which saw her take control of the situation from the first fifteen, thus finishing the match in just over an hour of play.

The clash between Elena Ravani and 3.1 Maria Vittoria Ranieri, a young Ferrarese member of the Romagna club, is highly anticipated. Very tense and exciting match, which saw Elena prevail 6/3 in the first half. A more competitive second set, where Cussina seemed to be able to close with ease, but Maria Vittoria’s reaction brought the score to four all. From here on, Elena Ravani, raising her tennis level with powerful and precise serves and backhands, managed to win 6/4.

At 2-0 for Cus, the third singles saw Martina Scagliarini opposing 3.1 Patricia Moldovan.

Here too, a very hard-fought match, which ended after almost three hours with a score of 62/16/62, with Martina knowing how to play tactically very intelligent tennis, with continuous variations that sent her opponent into crisis. It should be noted that the match was played under the ball which had been turned into an oven by the practically summer day with temperatures reaching 40 degrees.

At 3-0, captain De Luca fielded the Ravani-Ronconi duo, who outdid themselves by winning against Ranieri-Moldovan with a score of 63/63 which guaranteed the fourth point and the mathematical certainty of remaining in the category for next season too .
