After the Trabocco sparkling wine and the new sub-areas, the wines of Abruzzo look to the chromatic scale for Cerasuolo – Virtù Quotidiane

VERONA – Vinitaly was a positive edition for Abruzzo which ends on Wednesday in Verona. To tell it to Daily Virtueswhich like every year followed the event with extensive specials, is Alessandro Nicodemipresident of the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo which this year brought a completely renovated stand with fifty companies to pavilion 12.

Bright and impactful colors to tell the nuances of the wines of the four sub-areas, included in the new Abruzzo Model. “The new layout convinced associates and the public,” said Nicodemi, “but the greatest satisfactions came from the focus on pecorino and cerasuolo superiore, transferred to the four sub-areas, demonstrating the fact that our vines in the four territories, despite having a common denominator, they tell different facets”.

The fifty-sixth edition also sees the collective brand Trabocco as a new entry, which for the first time had a dedicated space in the consortium area. “We really believe in the sparkling wine project regardless of the brand, because we believe that native white vines are suitable for sparkling wine. This can be an additional weapon to face an increasingly competitive market,” he underlined.

After Vinitaly, the Consortium aims to work, with the technical-scientific committee, on a novelty to be included in the specifications for Cerasuolo, “introducing a numbering to identify the chromatic range, so that color can also be a distinctive element for the obtaining eligibility. Over the years the color has always had some discrepancies, and in order to present itself on the market we want this denomination, which is the only one to have grown in double digits, to have a uniform appearance”.
