TICKET, MERCHANTS: “MAKE VENICE MORE HOSPITAL”
The countdown is now almost over and the date of April 25th is getting closer and closer. It will be the day in which a revolution in its own historical way will begin for the city, the entrance fee will be charged to enter the historic center of Venice.
Let’s remember the rules: in 29 days from 25 April to 14 July anyone who wants to come and visit the city for the day will have to book their entry and, if they come from outside Veneto, they will pay 5 euros.
The motivations? Try to regulate tourist flows in the city, spreading out arrivals as much as possible and lightening the days when there are usually packed houses.
In short, the invitation, if possible, is to visit Venice during the week.
In any case, no one will be banned from entering the city and, at least for the moment (in the future who knows) there will be no limited number.
A regulation on tourism that the economic categories in Venice have also been asking for for years. Among these are traders, aware of the importance of mitigating tourism to make the city more livable, even for the tourists themselves.
