FLORENCE. Thirty-seven self-sufficient apartments for people over 65 with common areas and personalized, cultural and socio-health services. And then recreational activities, personal care, home shopping. The Novoli-Senior Housing Village was officially inaugurated, an innovative project by Vivismart which concerns the real estate redevelopment of the building located in via Baracca 48, owned by Niccolò Rangoni. This new condominium, designed to meet the needs of self-sufficient people over 65, offers 37 independent apartments ready to be inhabited.
The Novoli Village is not only a place of residence, but also an environment designed to encourage socialization. Inside the Novoli Village it is possible to share common spaces and take advantage of personalized services, whether cultural or socio-healthcare. Among the first residents is Manuela Sabatini. Living with her husband and a mother with Alzheimer’s, she faced the challenge of finding an environment suited to their needs. «My mother, who is still active, can enjoy more attention by living in the condominium even when my husband and I are at work and she can be involved in recreational activities. At the same time we can meet new people, do and propose initiatives, make friends, lend a hand to those who need it in a spirit of mutual solidarity » she says.
The Villaggio Novoli project was created thanks to the collaboration between the Fabrica Consortium, the Co&So Consortium, the Il Girasole cooperative and the contribution of the CR Firenze Foundation. Giacomo Billi, president of Co&So, Francesca Bottai, president of Il Girasole, Maria Oliva Scaramuzzi, vice president of the CR Firenze Foundation, Eugenio Giani, president of the Tuscany Region, Sara Funaro, welfare councilor of the Municipality of Florence.
The apartments are two-room and three-room apartments. The offer includes a 4+4 rental contract with a monthly fee that varies from 1265 to 1470 euros depending on the type of apartment. The offer includes rent, including condominium charges and basic services: coordination and general management service; coordination and personal assistance service; night availability for emergencies; recreational and socializing activities, elevator maintenance, cleaning of common areas. Private utilities (electricity, water, telephone, waste, internet) are not included in the monthly fee.
The Novoli Village «aims to respond to the emerging needs linked to demographic aging – it is explained – It is currently estimated that around 38 thousand elderly people with serious functional limitations and who are not self-sufficient and therefore in need of help and support reside in the province of Florence; 85 thousand elderly people with non-serious functional limitations, self-sufficient, but still in need of assistance; 7 thousand elderly people in RSAs; 21 thousand enjoy direct home care.” L
