Agropoli, meetings continue between the Salerno Prefecture and Cilento mayors to discuss territorial security

With the session of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security
held this morning, at the Council Room of the Municipality of Agropoli, continues the
program of meetings in the Province of Salerno dedicated to discussion
with the Mayors to intercept the needs and requests that come from the different ones
community.
In addition to the Prefect of Salerno, Francesco Esposito – accompanied by the Police Commissioner of
Salerno, Giancarlo Conticchio, and the Provincial Commanders of the Arma dei
Carabinieri, Filippo Melchiorre, and of the Guardia di Finanza, Oriol De Luca – were

“Paestum Alto Cilento”, including Capaccio Paestum, Giungano, Laureana Cilento,
Omignano, Rutino, Salento, Torchiara and the Municipality of Castellabate.
The territorial area affected, especially along the coastal strip, over the years
years, has experienced a considerable tourist expansion which requires, especially in
given the upcoming summer period, the intensification of control services
territory, in order to correspond to the needs and expectations arising therefrom
by the increase in presences linked to the tourist flow.
From a safety point of view, it has been noted that in the last few
weeks there has been a slight increase in the number of thefts in some areas
housing and in some economic activities. However the security situation
does not present any particular critical issues and is in line with the trend recorded in
past, as emerges from crime statistics and joint analysis
of the police forces.
Many issues were addressed in a discussion open to the Mayors: implementation
of current video surveillance systems, to be programmed in time,
involving supra-municipal areas and positioning license plate readers along the streets of
access to the territories, to be connected with the operational centers of the Police Forces; The
competition of the Municipal Police in road safety services and, in particular,
in the detection of road accidents, as well as in the control of the territory; there
raising awareness among communities to ensure ever greater collaboration
Police Forces; the strengthening of administrative prevention activities aimed at
avoid the risks of criminal infiltration attempts into the fabric
economic and, in particular, in public procurement, at a time when with
the implementation of the PNRR, investments of public money are increasing; there
prevention of the phenomenon of wear and tear in consideration of the associated risks
to the current situation.
