New alert from the civil service for Como and its province and a great deal in Lombardy. The strong wind will continue to rage throughout today, April 16, with local gusts of up to 100 km/h. In Como, as reported by 3Bmeteo, the strongest gusts are expected today between 2pm and 4pm and tonight at 10pm, tomorrow around 8am.

“The strengthening of the winds from the North which began in the morning of today 16th April, starting from the Alps and the north-west sectors of the region, will tend to persist and extend in the afternoon especially on the central-western areas as well as on the Alpine and Pre-Alpine areas, and then weaken in the evening starting from the plain areas. In the remaining sectors of the region, less insistent and continuous reinforcements are expected. However, episodes of local gusts cannot be ruled out in the areas of Garda and the eastern plain. around 70 km/h. On mountain ridges and passes above 1000 metres, local gusts of up to around 100 km/h are expected, initially between early afternoon and early evening most likely in the Brescia Prealps and Garda and subsequently in the Eastern Plain areas. Temperatures significantly decreasing starting from the mountain levels, with the freezing point dropping from 2000-2500 m in the early afternoon to 1600-2000 m in the evening.
For tomorrow 17 April, between late morning and afternoon, isolated rain showers will be possible in the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas and in the central-eastern plain, occasionally thunderstorms in the afternoon. Reinforcement winds are expected again, mainly in the morning and afternoon hours after a night-time attenuation, also of a foevon nature; the reinforcements will be more lasting, between morning and afternoon, in the western areas, while they will be of a local nature in the central-eastern areas also linked to the possible development of local showers and short thunderstorms in the afternoon”.
