Fourth edition of PerPIANO, the Livornoclassica review

Off we go fourth edition of the music festival ForPIANOorganized by the association Classical Livorno.

As the artistic director states Carlo Palese, “Livornoclassica is the association that organizes the prestigious international competition Livorno Piano Competition, therefore the world of piano is particularly close to us. However, the program of this first spring part of the PerPIANO festival will be characterized by variety and originality as regards field formations and musical programs and, as always, we will present established artists alongside young people of great quality, with a touch of imagination and internationality ”.

The event enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Livorno, the Province of Livorno and the Port System Authority of the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea.

The first three appointments, on Saturday afternoon at 5pm will be held at Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean.

To open the review, Saturday 20 April they will be the violinist Lucio Degani and the pianist Andrea Rucli, two artists who boast a more than thirty-year international career: “An American in Italy” is musically inspired by the “exploits” of Jasha Heifetz, a great Russian violinist naturalized in the United States who, following the Allied troops during the Second World War, gave to the public a moment of grace and serenity performing a repertoire of great appeal. The program ranges from Kreisler’s Vienna, to traditional music, up to George Gershwin and John Williams with the poignant “Schindler’s list”.

The pianist Pietro Bonfilio he is among the most sought-after pianists of the young generation; he has already performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and at the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan. Saturday 11 May will propose the recital “The music of images”, evoked by a collection of Preludes by Claude Debussy and the wonderful “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Mussorgsky.

“Theatre, dance and virtuosity” for a 4-hand piano, Saturday 1 June with the Duo Degas, which celebrates 10 years of activity. Galina Chistiakova and Diego Benocci will perform some of the most captivating music; Grieg with the Norwegian Dances and Peer Gynt, Liszt with the popular world of Hungarian Rhapsodies and the most famous pages from Tchaikovsky’s ballets will not fail to excite the public.

There Canaviglia room of the old Fortress will host the concerts that will follow, in the evening at 9pm.

The 7 June “A musical journey for string orchestra” represents a tribute to the great repertoire of every era and latitude, curated by Camerata Virtuosi directed by the Brazilian Renan Leme. The orchestra is made up of selected young people from Missouri, on tour in Italy in June.

The June 21st it will be opera singing that will celebrate the day of Music Festival. The soprano Francesca Sassuan artist who has performed in the most important theaters in the world together with great conductors, will hold a recital with the pianist and director Andrea Certa. Music by Duparc, Debussy, Verdi, Puccini.

To conclude the spring of PerPIANO will be, the June 28 an extraordinary young talent, the seventeen-year-old pianist Pierpaolo Buggiani. Already awarded in numerous international competitions, Buggiani will propose two of the pinnacles of the piano and musical repertoire in general; Beethoven’s “Appassionata” Sonata and F.Chopin’s Preludes.
