PROVINCE OF PAVIA – Paolo Camozzi, Slow Food taster and wine writer as well as deputy editor of the Slow Wine guide, died last night. The announcement was made by his partner through a moving post on Facebook. The news sparked a wave of condolences among friends and colleagues, heartbroken by the sudden and shocking loss. Paolo leaves behind him three beloved children and numerous friends scattered throughout Italy. At the moment, the date of the funeral has not yet been established.

Graduated from the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo (CN), Paolo has actively collaborated with Slow Food, holding important roles as coordinator of the Slow Wine Guide, expert taster and teacher of courses on wine and the culture of quality food. After a professional period in Milan, where he worked for Cortilia as a selector of food and agri-food excellence, Paolo returned to his roots in the rolling hills of the Oltrepò Pavese. Here, in addition to carrying out his business, he actively contributed to the promotion of the culture of food and territory in schools thanks to the Adolescere Foundation.

With his great openness, humility and sensitivity, Paolo has always demonstrated an innate generosity in sharing his knowledge and his love for quality food. In addition to consultancy in the field of food promotion and organization of food and wine trips, he was passionate about rural architecture, fully embodying the spirit of “giving”. His passing leaves a void not only in the Slow Food community, but also in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him and working alongside him.
