The sentence published by Maneskin frontman Damiano David, on Instagram, next to a photo that shows him smiling and completely naked on the bed, with a little black heart covering his private parts and with what looks like a joint in his mouth, didn’t failed to trigger a reaction on social media.

“I smoked a lot of joints too…. – writes a fan – I can’t say anything if you smoke…only that you’ll realize later on the damage it causes, because unfortunately it causes them….but never mind, everyone is free to do what he wants with his life. The ‘anti-drug’ DJ Aniceto also intervenes among the detractors: “Singers like Damiano shouldn’t exist” – says Dj Aniceto – I have always been against all types of soft and hard drugs, all of them ‘serve’ to deceive a boy’s life negatively And I find it very squalid and in bad taste that a singer of a world-class group like him lends himself to showcasing one of the greatest human miseries such as ‘addiction’, in order to get people talked about. Also because they (the Maneskin ) have always expressed themselves negatively against drugs. Why this change of course? Nowadays it’s all business and marketing and nothing, especially for such famous singers and groups, is done by chance. And I find this doubly scandalous. Getting promoted and publicity on human misery! When one no longer climbs the charts, when one has nothing left to say artistically one is provoked… Damiano should be punished for his levity. No artist should be allowed to advertise drugs because out of a spirit of emulation he could be imitated by many minors. Social networks and their algorithms should ban photos of such bad taste. I hope that at least in Italy the TV and radio channels avoid broadcasting the Maneskin after this scandalous staging, but I don’t count on it very much, in fact I think the opposite will happen. There should never be room for bad teachers either in music or in life!” concludes Aniceto.
