Daniela Giordano, the first and only Palermitan to be elected Miss Italy, died at the age of 75 after an illness. After her triumph in the beauty contest, which took place in 1966, the doors of the cinema opened wide for her. After her debut in 1967 in the film “The Barbers of Sicily”, with Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia, Daniela Giordano starred in about forty films, most of which in the seventies, ranging between different genres: western, historical and Italian comedies.
On the Miss Italia website, like all the other queens, a page is dedicated with a brief description. “Sicilian, Daniela Giordano wins the title in Salsomaggiore. Daughter of a bank official, she studied languages and after her election she embarked on a career as an actress continuing to cultivate the hobby of astronomy. She took part in numerous films, including such as Play Boy, and the television drama The Adventures of Baron Von Trenck. He resides in Palermo”, reads. The actress over 30 years ago she had married Emilio Latini, photographer of stars and film characters.
Miss Italia also dedicated a post on social networks to the actress today: “With enormous sadness we announce the passing of Miss Italia 1966 Daniela Giordano. After the victory of the sash in Salsomaggiore, she embarked on a successful film career in the seventies. We want to remember her with great affection, smiling and happy together with the Miss companions of that year and also with our dear Enzo Mirigliani. The patron and we all gather around the family”.
