Guenda Goria and Mirko Gancitano: “With the birth of Noah we will realize our second great dream”

Young, beautiful, enthusiastic and almost parents…Guenda Goria and Mirko Gancitano (couple in life and also in hosting the program “Va dove ti porta il cuore” on Radio Latte e Miele on Saturdays and Sundays) got married on May 16th with religious rite in the cathedral of the Santissimo Salvatore in Mazara del Vallo, the groom’s hometown. The ceremony and the party were filmed and immortalized by the guests (friends, relatives, well-known faces from the world of entertainment) and by ordinary people who went outside the church to wait and celebrate the couple. The images and videos of the fairytale wedding of the G&G couple (Goria & Gancitano) have made their way into the hearts of Italians and have acquired so much popularity on the Internet and on social channels that they have become viral.

There was no shortage of cameras from some television programs such as “La Volta Buona” – hosted on Raiuno by Caterina Balivo, a program where, among other things, a few months ago the theater actress and pianist, daughter of Maria Teresa Ruta and the journalist Amedeo Goria, received the marriage proposal from Gancitano (TV host and director). “Over four thousand people outside the basilica welcomed us, applauded and supported us… There was so much emotion and so much panic, but the most important thing we had wanted for a long time was to realize this beautiful dream,” says Mirko with shining eyes. .

“For me, an indelible moment was when I crossed the threshold of the church entrance where, in addition to being moved and anxious, I was afraid that my father (Amedeo Goria ed) would crush my veil. Only after having crossed the beautiful nave of the cathedral and when I met Mirko’s eyes did my fears fade… Another unforgettable moment was that of the signatures in which the little one in my womb (he will be called Noah and should be born at the end of July – beginning August) decided to go wild kicking me very hard perhaps to warn me!”, says Guenda amused.

During the ceremony there was no shortage of ironic moments (starting from Mirko’s gaffe in pronouncing the promise of marriage) and tensions: “No one knows that initially on the marriage certificate they had written my wife’s name incorrectly (Brenda instead of Guenda) ; but then fortunately we solved everything” says Mirko Gancitano currently working as a correspondent and Tourist Quasi per Caso with “Camper”, the Rai1 program hosted by Marcello Masi. The two newlyweds, complete with an incursion from Maria Teresa Ruta, tell their story in this exclusive video interview for the newspaper.
