MAGLIE – On 9 May 1978 Aldo Moro was murdered in Rome, and like every year the municipality of Maglie (LE), which gave him birth, remembers him. It’s a shame that this year in the poster for the anniversary you can see a photograph depicting the actor Fabrizio Gifuniwho actually played the role of Moro in the film Esterno Notte.
The gaffe did not go unnoticed, and there are already countless controversies on social media, given that the posters have been placed everywhere. The mayor’s apologies also arrived quickly Ernesto Toma: «I apologize: having mistaken the photo of the illustrious citizen of Maglie, Aldo Moro, in the Municipality’s poster to commemorate the 46th anniversary of his assassination is a very serious mistake! It would be of no use to add that those responsible for the error are not to be found within the city administration, because given the importance of the anniversary we would have had to directly choose the photo of Aldo Moro to use. Not having done so pushes us to make a gesture of responsibility which is to apologize to the statesman’s family and to all citizens.”
