The attack suffered on the night between last Sunday and Monday in Milan by Cristiano Iovino, the Roman personal trainer called by Francesco Totti to testify in court about Ilary Blasi’s marital infidelity, remains a mystery. Not only is it not known what the reason behind the beating was, but the fact that the 37-year-old did not want to file a formal complaint, as if he feared other repercussions, contributes to making the mystery even thicker. From the outlines, in fact, it seems to be a real punitive raid, also because he was not robbed.
He was surrounded by five or six men who got out of a mini van, in via Marco Ulpio Traiano, on the outskirts of Milan. It was 3.30 and Iovino was returning home when he was surrounded by this small group, who beat him with their bare hands, leaving him lying on the ground bleeding. He was rescued by 118 personnel and treated on the spot. The carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit and the Moscova station also intervened, but in cases of personal injury with illness lasting less than 20 days, a complaint is required for the judicial authority to proceed. Furthermore, the personal trainer did not want to go to the emergency room to have his injuries or any bruises reported.

THE INVESTIGATIONS
He also did not provide further details to law enforcement to help them with their investigation. He did not give any indication of any suspicions, nor did he want to put on record how he had spent that night before being attacked. However, the investigators submitted a note to the Milan Prosecutor’s Office. They will try to understand whether it was an extemporaneous revenge developed on the sidelines of an evening spent in some club or whether it was instead a raid organized in advance, with a vehicle – the mini van – which is usually rented by those he doesn’t want to be identified (including ultras and criminals). The reasons at this point could be the most varied. Whose toes would Iovino have “stepped on” to the point of triggering this reaction? It doesn’t seem to have been an act of petty delinquency, given that they didn’t even rob him. His friends are extremely tight-lipped and he himself didn’t want to say anything on the phone.
THE CAUSE
His name became known to the news after “Il Messaggero” interviewed him last January 25th and he confessed to being the mysterious man with whom Ilary Blasi had told in her documentary “Unica” that she had taken a “single ” coffee, arousing Totti’s jealousy. But Iovino, in our newspaper, revealed: «We had an intimate acquaintance. We met towards the end of 2020, through social media, then we agreed to meet in person and attend a Banksy exhibition in Rome. I started writing to her, jokingly commenting on a selfie of hers in the elevator.” At that time, however, the TV presenter was still officially with Totti. «There was fear on both sides of being seen and photographed together – the 37-year-old explained to “Il Messaggero” – I didn’t want to end up at the center of a media case either, but apparently something went wrong. We mostly saw each other at my house.”
In the hearing on May 31st he could be forced to retrace those months of his acquaintance with Ilary in front of the judge of the Court of Rome, who will have to decide (among other things) who will be responsible for the end of the VIP couple’s marriage. In fact, Totti’s defense has no intention of giving up his testimony.
