“I experienced true madness, not understanding who you are, then realizing that if you don’t get out of there it’s over… It was difficult but I managed it: my mind did everything.” This is how Gianna Nannini talks about herself in the book Cazzi mie which inspired Sei nell’anima, the story of the artist, produced by Indiana Production and directed by Cinzia TH Torrini, which will go on Netflix on May 2nd, starring Letizia Toni in the role of rock icon. The film only tells the story of Gianna Nannini’s first thirty years.
It starts from his rebellious and wealthy childhood up to his consecration in 1983 which he considers his “true birth”. Written by Cinzia TH Torrini and Cosimo Calamini together with Donatella Diamanti and Gianna Nannini herself, the film is a journey inside the creative mind of this unique and revolutionary artist who never accepted compromises. Also part of the cast are Selene Caramazza, a hairdresser from Salento, Maurizio Lombardi, her father, Stefano Rossi Giordani and Andrea Delogu who plays a young Mara Maionchi.
