The sixty-three year old original guitarist of VENOM and current VENOM INC., Jeff “Mantas” Dunnannounced via social media that he had recently suffered a second heart attack:

“On the morning of Wednesday 17 April I had another heart attack. Two ambulances arrived at my house and, once they were sure that I was stable, they took me to Abrantes hospital in intensive care. I had numerous blood tests, x-rays and cardiac ultrasound and they decided to fly me to Lisbon for an angiography when a place became available.

The outcome of the angiography revealed that my double bypass was functioning well, however, two further valves were compromised and close to complete failure and it was therefore immediately decided to apply two stents, which they did immediately. The entire procedure was performed through my left wrist under local anesthesia.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors and nursing staff in Abrantes and Lisbon for their superb care and attention. I am now home and on the mend.

I will not be performing live with VENOM INC in the short term. I will obviously continue to make music, it’s my therapy, and I will most likely come back to bother you in the not too distant future.

Once again, each of you has my eternal gratitude.

“With much love and respect, Jeff.”

Mantas in 2018 he had already suffered a heart attack following which he had undergone a double heart bypass.
