Prince William recently dealt with a very serious issue having to do with mental health issues.
The British Royal Family has always attracted global curiosity and interest. But at the moment a sense of great concern prevails. The English monarchy is facing a period of enormous difficulty. The sovereign, King Charles III, is less present due to the prostate cancer he was diagnosed with a few months ago.
He seems to be making progress with treatment, but total recovery is still far away. The same fate befell her daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton. There are no updates on her. After the announcement of her illness she closed herself (rightly) behind a wall of confidentiality. Everything is on the shoulders of Prince William who continues his work as a senior member of the Royal Family and is increasingly set to take on the role of future king.
Mental health problems, William makes an important gesture: he will help many people
The Prince of Wales has pledged to support an important project on the topic of mental health linked to the world of work. In particular, he promised money to ensure that every farmer in the Duchy of Cornwall has access to support and care in this regard.
It’s about establishing a 24/7 helpline, created specifically to support workers in the agricultural community. The three-year funding package will allow a Herefordshire-based charity to help workers employed on at least 260 farms.
According to British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy, every week three people who work in the agricultural sector take their own lives. It’s a chilling fact. For this reason it is necessary to intervene promptly. Sam Stables, a farmer who has struggled to safeguard his mental health, founded the charity with his wife Emily We Are Farming Minds who will be involved in the project.
Both the Prince and Princess of Wales they visited the farm of the Stables at Aconbury, in Herefordshire, in September last year. The royal couple then had the opportunity to talk and confront Mr and Mrs Stables and some trustees of their charity.
Sam Stables, speaking about William and Kate, said: “They have kindly pledged money so that all agricultural tenants in the Duchy of Cornwall can access our psychological support service. It was great. I can only use words of satisfaction for what has been done for us and for our community”.
