Anxiety disorders, a psychiatric pathology to be kept under control

Anxiety is often described as a reaction of psychophysical tension, it concerns both internal psychological sensations and bodily manifestations. They are very different bodily manifestations but which we know very well and which associate them with “fear”. It is said that anxiety is as if it were a fear without an evident motivation, even if in reality sometimes the motivation is evident, for example the fear of exams, the fear of going on a trip, are often feelings of anxiety.

The characterization involves on the one hand thoughts, often brooding concerns that focus on a symptomatology and on the other instead a symptomatology that has to do with bodily changes, for example in the heartbeat, breathing and muscle tension. This set of manifestations are connected to the manifestation of fear and anxiety is a physiological manifestation, which affects all of us but which can then become disturbing if the levels become excessive, or instead of being useful to deal with a complex situation becomes excessive; and therefore it worsens our functioning.

But it is not always synonymous with illness and can be controlled with the care and advice of specialists. In this regard, we talk about it with the Dr. Giovanni Migliarese director of the Lomellina Mental Health complex structure – Vigevano civil hospital.
