In the name of the project there is a commitment: «A future of care». But this objective has already been translated into the present: the new Oncology Area of San Francesco Nursing Home is already a reality, thanks to the collaboration with the «Papa Giovanni» hospital and the contribution (100 thousand euros) of theSports Academy for Solidarity.

They find their place in the new spaces 11 stations (9 armchairs and 2 beds) for chemotherapy, to increase patient response and reduce waiting times for the start of treatment. A further step that expands the collaboration between the two hospitals: the agreement means that patients from “Papa Giovanni” can receive chemotherapy at San Francesco, within an agreement from which almost 200 patients have already benefited in the last year.
The new area is the result of a team play between an accredited private structure, a large public hospital and the generosity of associations. Saturday afternoon, April 20, the inauguration: «I bring the Bishop’s congratulations – the introduction of Monsignor Giulio Dellavite, bishop’s delegate for institutional relations and diocesan events -. If cancer is a cell that goes crazy and fights the others, we are many small cells of generosity that create space and possibilities for health and life to return to these people.” From sister Anna Maria Villalegal representative of the Capuchin Sisters Institute of Madre Rubatto, thanks go to those who made the project possible: «Working in this area, with people of perseverance who create energy and projects, is a great opportunity».
