The Ministry of Health has reported the recall by the manufacturer of two batches of organic sage powder under the Padovana Macinazione – Il Meglio del Biologico brand. The reason indicated on the recall notice is the presence of gluten not declared on the label. The product in question is sold in 1 kg packs, belonging to batch 005Q with the best before date (TMC) 17/07/2026, and to batch 005Q-01 with the TMC 31/12/2026.

The Padovana Macinazione Srl company produced the recalled powdered sage. The production plant is located in via Borgo Olcese 106, in Cividate Camuno, in the province of Brescia.

As a precaution, the company therefore recommends that people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance not consume powdered sage with the batch numbers and minimum shelf life indicated above. Consumers with celiac disease or gluten intolerant who may be in possession of the recalled product can return it to the point of purchase. However, the product is safe for other people.

From January 1st 2024 The Food Fact reported 85 recalls, for a total of 157 products. Click here to see all recall notices, withdrawals and revocations.
