“Emergency room, work can begin”

After years of waiting, the expansion work on the emergency room of the “Ss. Benvenuto e Rocco” hospital in Osimo will begin soon. After years of waiting for the allocation of funds in 2020 with the commissioner’s order for the management of the pandemic emergency triggered by Covid-19, Inrca in recent months has finally expressed to the Municipality its intention to start with the works.

“Thanks to a careful evaluation by the technical offices of the Municipality and Inrca, we managed to unblock the procedure – announces the mayor Simone Pugnaloni -. The technicians of the two parties involved evaluated how to proceed, whether a permit to to build in derogation issued by the Municipality after approval by the municipal council, or if a simplified procedure was more appropriate. After in-depth assessments, it was considered that the presentation by Inrca of a certified report of commencement of activity, accepted and accepted, was sufficient. agreed in recent days by the Municipality”.

At this point Inrca will be able to start work at any time to improve the spaces dedicated to the first intervention point. The project, compared to the initial one which involved the exchange of rooms between the emergency room and the analysis laboratory, to create diversified access for suspected Covid patients and more toilets, studies and waiting rooms, has been modified and simplified by Inrca. The intervention now includes an improvement in access to the emergency room and a reorganization of the internal spaces, moving the guardhouse and doctors’ office to a container outside the current structure, in the same square where last year the CT scan was temporarily positioned .

“A need for which in the last four years, since the funds were allocated, I as mayor had requested several times, asking the management of the Institute for updates on the project and timetable. After many postponements also due to the contract managed directly by Rome to a company involved in several other works on the same lot, Inrca is finally ready. The Municipality has done its part to ensure a rapid start of the construction site. A public investment that pushes us even more to enhance and not abandon our hospital departments will be moved to the new Inrca at Aspio”.
