Covid, convictions and indictments for fake vaccines: 98 people on trial in January
Descriptive text here

Of the 226 people accused of forgery in collusion with the doctor who had vaccinated them, 24 were sentenced to sentences of between eight and 12 months, 98 were sent to trial (the trial will start at the end of January), 17 were acquitted and the others chose to negotiate lighter sentences. Thus, the preliminary hearing on the dozens of fake green passes discovered, starting from a police check, in a clinic in Marina di Ravenna where the doctor Mauro Passarini worked, ended in front of the Gup Andrea Galanti.

An FdI coordinator was also sentenced

Among the people who were convicted of forgery in competition was also Alberto Ferrero, city councilor and provincial coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia. Ferrero was among the accused people who had turned to Passarini for a fake vaccination to obtain the Green pass. According to what emerged, and largely confirmed by the doctor, the injections of the Covid-19 vaccine had not been given to many of the suspects or had been given in an extremely diluted manner.

Passarini’s previous plea deal

The main suspect, the 67-year-old general practitioner and gynecologist Mauro Passarini, originally from Bologna but resident in the Romagna city for some time, had already settled for two years in the past due to the disputed appropriation of Pfizer vials and for having spoken on 17 November 2021 to a journalist leaving home while under house arrest. Corruption, which he was initially accused of and which would have increased his sentence, was instead ruled out. For him, the arrest came on November 10, 2021: after a few days in cell he went under house arrest and finally returned completely free. The highest sentence (one year, suspended sentence) was inflicted on the healer from Padua who Passarini had approached in the past and who for the accusation would have acted as a collector between the vaccinator and several anti-vaxxers from cities in Northern Italy.

The investigation started from a mother’s report

The investigation by the Ravenna Mobile team – coordinated by the Prosecutor Angela Scorza – started from a fake vaccination on a minor accompanied specifically to Marina di Ravenna by her father from Belluno: it was the girl’s mother who made the first complaint. The searches then led to the seizure in Passarini of 13 Pfizer vials which were now compromised because they had been abandoned at room temperature. Among the defendants are some nurses and doctors from the Romagna local health authority (which was a civil party) who mostly chose to defend themselves at the trial.
