It’s time to take stock UOC Sports and Exercise Medicine of the Company.

The UOC provides 8 thousand services a year, 1400 instrumental tests are carried out. It has a team made up of 47 professionals: 20 are doctors in specialist training. It carries out its activity in three locations: on the first floor of the Monoblock, at the ai Colli healthcare complex, at the ‘Casa Famiglia Gidoni’ day center where the new intra-hospital gym is located, managed with a loan contract for use by the Company, the University of Studies, Alta Vita Ira. The gym, which is spread over a site of 270 thousand square meters and required an investment of 75 thousand euros for construction work and electrical systems, is dedicated to the prescription and initiation of the practice of physical exercise of subjects with chronic pathologies.

The UOC also has a clinic for prescribing physical exercise in chronic pathologies with a team of sports doctors, exercise doctors and kinesiologists.

The patients followed have various degrees of obesity, oncological diseases, liver diseases, rheumatological diseases, rare diseases, cardiovascular diseases, chronic diseases or have had a solid organ transplant. These include pediatric patients and adult patients.

The UOC is a specialized regional center for the prescription of therapeutic exercise in chronic pathologies and has the regional coordination of the clinical network of sports and physical exercise medicine, it is also home to the school of specialization in sports and physical exercise medicine, it is also home to the specialization course in mountain medicine.
