After a conversation with his wife Amal, George Clooney admitted that the era of on-screen kissing is over.
Per George Clooney the era of kisses on the screen ended a while ago, or at least after a conversation he had with his wife Amal Clooney. The Hollywood star, who over the years has starred in numerous films, including sentimental ones, said more. Apparently, though, those times have been put on the back burner because he has no plans to share any more on-screen kisses.
George Clooney reveals he won’t “kiss girls” on screen anymore: why?
In an interview with Daily MailGeorge Clooney admitted he no longer plans to “kiss girls” on screen after a conversation he had with his wife Amal. “I tried to go the Paul Newman route: ‘Okay, fine, I’m never going to kiss a girl again‘” said Clooney. He then clarified: “When I turned 60, I talked to my wife. I told her, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25 year olds. I can still stand, I’m fit. But in 25 years I’ll be 85. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.’”.
Throughout his career, George Clooney has starred in several romantic films and the most recent is Ticket to Paradise con Julia Robertsreleased in 2022. That year, to the microphones of New York TimesClooney had said that a director had criticized his kissing scene while promoting the film with his colleague: “I remember early in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl, and the director said, ‘Not like that.’ And I’m like, ‘Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!’” Regarding the kiss scene in question with Julia Roberts, the actor admitted that it took him a while to complete that shot: “I told my wife it took 80 takes for that kiss. He replied: ‘What the hell are you talking about?‘”. Julia Roberts, in the same interview, clarified the reason: “It took 79 takes of us laughing and then one of us kissing”.
