Prince William catches attention for some unusual gestures during an event, sparking speculation from royal fans.

Not only Trooping the Colour: as opposed to Kate Middleton who once again “retired to her rooms”, for Prince William there was another round of jousting under the spotlight, in front of the photographers’ flashes and above all also before the eyes of some body language experts.

During the annual parade of Garter Day (Garter day) at Windsor Castle, the heir to the throne of England surprised many with a gesture which, according to one scholar, is not in line with its usual character.

What William’s behavior reveals

The Garter Day it’s a celebration of chivalric traditions and the history of the United Kingdom. It is an event of great prestige and solemnity, which underlines the link between the British monarchy and its ancient origins. L‘Order of the Garter (Order of the Garter) was founded in 1348 by King Edward III and is one of the orders of chivalry most exclusive in the world and its membership is limited to a very small number of members, including the Royal Family, some leading members of the British nobility and major international personalities.

William, along with King Charles and Queen Camilla, attended the ceremony wearing the traditional long robe and plumed hat. The event, which attracts hundreds of spectators, had a festive atmosphere with picnic baskets and camping chairs lining the procession route.

At a certain point, during the parade, the Prince William turned his gaze towards aunt Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, husband of Princess Anne, giving them a smile. This moment was analyzed by the body language expert Darren Stantonwho stated that William’s expression revealed a lot about his feelings about the event.

Darren Stanton explained: “William showed genuine interest in the ceremony. He maintained strong eye contact and exhibited genuine smiles, involving his entire face. He also winked at the camera and flashed a huge smile, which suggests he was in good spirits and wasn’t afraid to be in a playful and mischievous mood.

Stanton added that this behavior shows how much William feel at ease on public occasions like Garter Day.”The fact that he is able to behave in such a relaxed and playful way means that he has truly found his way and feels completely confident in himself. It’s clear he was happy to see so many people there to show their support for Windsor.”

In comparison, Stanton observed a different approach from King Charles. “The king and queen are taking everything calmly. Carlo appears solemn and focused, taking his role as company representative very seriously. Even though he interacts with Camilla as they enter, he stays focused and doesn’t want to be distracted. His eye contact remained strong, with few moments of relaxation. He was very aware of how he was behaving.”

On the other hand, Camilla appeared more relaxed and smiling. “Camilla’s smiles are genuine and authentic, they don’t seem forced in any way,” Stanton said again. This contrast between Carlo’s solemnity and Camilla’s relaxation offered an interesting dynamic at the event.
