the Trooping the Color dress «recycled» from the wardrobe

Kate Middleton made yet another statement in support of sustainable fashion at Trooping the Color 2024, just when all eyes were on her. The Princess of Wales, 42, joined the royal family at King Charles’ official birthday parade in London on June 15, marking her first public event in six months after announcing in March that she had cancer and was undergoing to chemotherapy. At “Trooping the Colour,” Princess Kate arrived wearing a white Jenny Packham dress with black trim and ribbon embellishment at the neckline. While impactful – even to experts – it appeared to be a new item in her wardrobe, the dress was actually a recycled version of a look worn in 2023 on the eve of King Charles’ coronation. THEThe simple black and white dress has been updated with a new neckline complete with a maxi bow and slightly modified with details around the waist.

In 2024, Kate wore her hair pulled back under a white Philip Treacy hat, the look completed with earrings that appear to be her Cassandra Goad Cauliflower Pearl Studs – which she had previously worn at Prince Louis’s christening in 2018 and at Wimbledon in 2023 – and the brooch of the Irish Guards Regiment, mentioning his role as honorary colonel of the regiment.

She traveled in a carriage with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, before joining the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for that special day.

Kate had also “recycled” the jacket chosen to announce her first public outing since last Christmas, at the Trooping The Color parade. The highlight of that photo under a tree was the all-Italian and all-female jacket by Blazé, a fashion house founded in 2013 in Milan by three girls. She wore it in 2023 to accompany her children and her husband William to visit an air base in Gloucestershire.
