Charles III and the anniversary gift to Kate
Kate Middleton and Prince William recently celebrated thirteen years of marriage. Their union, in fact, was celebrated on 29 April 2011. The sovereign gave Kate a very important title: The Order of the Companions of Honour.
This is the Order of the Companions of Honour, founded by George V in 1917 to honor those who achieve great things in the arts, sciences, medicine and British public service.
This order includes only 65 people and the list also includes people like Paul McCartney, Maggie Smith and Elton John. Kate will receive a gold locket, tied to a red ribbon, topped with a crown.
Inside the medallion, there is a depiction of an armored knight on horseback and an oak tree. Inside the oak is the shield of the Royal Arms. On the edge of the medallion there is the following writing: “In faithful action and clear honor”.
Kate will receive this award for supporting the arts and for being a patron of the National Portrait Gallery. This is a very rare award and this gift once again underlines the strong bond between Charles III and Catherine Middleton.
William also got a wedding anniversary gift. The future king of England was awarded the Great Master of the Most Honorable Order of the Bathan order founded by George I in 1725. This award is given to those who have provided exemplary service to the country.
