TO At this point we cannot help but focus on the short circuit: a Professor who dedicates the first episode of his show on Rai 2 to the fight against bullying, then decides, as soon as he receives half criticism from those who write about TV for a living, to expose this person to public pillory. Basically encouraging the adoring platoon of followers (we are talking about two million people, not bruscolini) to unleash themselves against “the enemy”, the one who dared to put down on paper the fragilities of the leadership of their beloved. It is true that ours, cunningly, cuts out the name of the ‘offender’ and the header from the post. But how long does it take today to find out who it is? It only takes two seconds on Google. And in fact the unfortunate man is already mentioned in the comments. Indeed, there are reels accusing him of “anti-southernism” and of having attacked the entire LGBTQIA+ community by criticizing Schettini. This drift is serious: if a host were to be homosexual and not from Aosta, would it therefore be obligatory to praise him regardless so as not to offend the whole of Southern Italy and various rainbow orientations? Blackmailing to say the least, very convenient for characters who have to respond to at least one of the two categories (or both). But it doesn’t work and will never work like that.

“Welcome to the world of TV critics. Useless poison given the results obtained. Make them talk my friend”, comments Anna Pettinelli under Schettini’s post. In fact, ever since the world began, the most watched programs are also those of the highest quality. A brilliant, incontrovertible thesis. But if a person has two million followers, he must necessarily be right, we have to fight for him who feels offended simply because he has put a foot outside his own gigantic bubble of consensus and is not used to being told that he is less than perfect. A tale of pride and arrogance which, incredibly, is moving the web. Goliath takes the field against David and everyone cheers for the giant, mocking his rival because, obviously, he will never be able to win. Davide, however, in this case did not want to win. He was simply working, late into the night, to deliver a review the next morning. Poor bastard. A nice social pillory was the least he should have expected. He really deserves it. Reading it this way, that is, the way it happened, it seems like exaggerated hyperbole, but instead it is exactly what is happening in the here and now. And, no matter how it is told to you in other places, in addition to not making the slightest sense, it sucks. Do we really want to go on like this? With these fake good guys who are eager to destroy every type of (legitimate) conflict in the bud, even passing as victims? Schettini must accept the possibility that there is someone in the entire universe who may not consider him “ready for TV” without thereby making a move and triggering, albeit implicitly, punitive expeditions. The public, meanwhile, just has to understand when and whether to change the channel. Or where to really leave your heart. The numbers, the blue ticks, the contagious smiles are not necessarily a guarantee of victory. Certainly not on a human level. Heart reaction?
