There is no doubt that in Hollywood Sydney Sweeney is one of the names of the moment: the star of Euphoria now seems well on her way towards a bright career and is already jumping (with mixed success) from genre to genre, from romantic comedy to horror, passing through cinecomic. Not everyone, however, sings her praises.
Expected soon as the protagonist of the remake of Barbarella, Sweeney has in fact been targeted by Carol Baumproducer of films such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the film, not the series!) and the remake of Father of the Bride with Steve Martin.
Baum said he saw Everyone But You on a plane ride and found him “unwatchable“: “I asked my class: ‘Explain this to me. She’s not beautiful, she can’t act. Why is it going so fast?’ […] So I was asked the question: ‘If you could make your own film as long as you were in it, what would you do?’ And there I replied: ‘That’s a great question. It’s hard to answer, everyone we want our film to be made, who says no to green light? Nobody that I know’” were his words. Will Sydney Sweeney have something to say about it or will he simply prefer to enjoy the success? We’ll see!
