NEW NAMES AT RIFF 2024: HERE NICOLAS MAUPAS AND DAMIANO GAVINO, FACES OF THE SERIES “UN PROFESSORE”, MARTINA STELLA AND ROSSELLA BRESCIA

The new names join those already announced including Giancarlo Commare, Carlotta Natoli, Gianmarco Saurino and Michela Giraud for the preview of “Maschile plurale”. TOThe ticket office is also open to attend Masterclasses, talks, films and documentaries

SESTRI LEVANTE (GE) – After the first previews of some of the big names expected in Sestri Levante from 7 to 12 May, the Riviera International Film Festival opens the ticket office today to attend exclusive masterclasses, free talks and panels and dozens of films, documentaries and shorts, both in competition and not, among which there will be no shortage of Italian and international premieres.

The Riff Lounge in the central Piazza Matteotti, squeezed between the Bay of Silence and the Bay of Fables, will as always be the scene of talks with the great protagonists of the small and big screen and panels dedicated to the world offilm industry. Many stars from the most popular cinema and TV series who will take turns on stage: among these Martina Stella Wednesday 8 May at 5pm, Nicolas Maupas (in the cover photo) e Damiano Gavino from “A professor” Friday 10th at 7.30pm, Rossella Brescia And Carlotta Natoli of “Il Santone” on Saturday 11th at 6pm, waiting to announce, in the next few days, other top names loved by the general public.

As is known, then, they will be well three Oscar winners present this yearstarting with the Hollywood star Susan Sarandonbest actress for “Dead Man Walking” in 1996, who will hold her masterclass on Saturday 11 May at 11 am, and then the editor Peter Scalia (Friday 10 May at 11am), two statuettes for best editing for “JFK” and “Black Hawk Down”, and the director Eva Orner (Sunday 12 May at 11am), Oscar for the documentary “Taxi to the Dark Side” and at Riff also as president of the Documentary jury, while the Film jury will be chaired by Andrew Dominik (masterclass Friday 10 May at 6pm), director of “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” and, more recently, of the controversial “Blonde”, in turn the protagonist of a masterclass on the approach to the big screen. To complete the program of these exclusive “cinema lessons”, all at the former Convento dell’Annunziata, the king of special effects Francesco Grisi (Saturday 11 May at 2.30 pm), former collaborator of, among others, Gabriele Salvatores and Michelangelo Antonioni.

And then, of course, there is the Ariston Cinema, the true heart of the Festival with continuous screening throughout the week of dozens of films, documentaries and short films, in competition or otherwise. If the opening, as already anticipated, will be with “Io e il Secco”, the only Italian film in the competition, which will be presented by the entire cast present on the Inaugural red carpet on Tuesday 7 May starting at 5.30pmalso worth mentioning the preview of “Plural Masculine” in the presence of the protagonists Giancarlo Commare, Gianmarco Saurino And Michela Giraud.
