It seems that the Stellantis relocation activities they don’t just go through what concerns production schemes. In fact, it is currently news that the Group born from the merger between FCA and PSA has asked some workers and employees of the Cassino plant for something certainly very particular.
According to what we read above Turin Chroniclethe Group managed by Carlos Tavares would have proposed to its employees who work at the Cassino plant to look at the possibility of working abroad; specifically, the proposal would be to aim towards France.
The transfer of Stellantis workers from Cassino to Sochaux would only be temporary
At the center of the proposal would be the assembly and body shop workers, who were offered the possibility of temporarily moving to the Peugeot plant in Sochaux where today exclusively electric vehicles are produced. Stellantis would have offered its employees stationed in Cassino a full salary and a daily increase of 130 euros for food and accommodation costs necessary for the management of the French trip.
As regards the Cassino employees working in the presses and plastics department, they have been offered a possible transfer to Mirafiori or Atessa. These proposals by Stellantis follow the need to resort to social safety nets, therefore the application of the redundancy fund provided for the Cassino plant in the province of Frosinone. The approach to trips of this type derives from the activities linked to a substantial internal reorganization promoted by Carlos Tavares to improve the productivity of the Group’s factories. Consequently, the transfer of employees towards Sochaux or towards Mirafiori and Atessa is proposed to deal with the choice of looking at the redundancy fund or the possibility, in fact, of working full salary at other factories. A condition that is probably difficult to use easily by the Group’s employees stationed in Cassino.
