Fiat Panda, now the identical model arrives from Japan and it costs less too: unfair competition? Meanwhile, everyone wants it

From Japan the model identical to the Fiat Panda is also active in Italy and costs less. What will they think?

Fiat is certainly one of the best-selling car manufacturers in Italy, not only because despite the market crisis it continues to keep prices quite affordable.

But also because many Italians continue to remain linked to the brand of the Turin company which is now a symbol for our country, furthermore the Panda is the model that it certainly represents it all over the world.

Could this be why the Japanese company made a model that seems like a close copy? We cannot be certain that their intent was really to make a duplicate of the famous Panda. However, even to a not very expert eye, the similarities are many.

Furthermore, as if this were not enough, the selling price of the new one is within the range of the Turin company’s model, so whether they wanted it or not, this model certainly comes into direct competition with the iconic Fiat car. At least on a commercial level.

The Japanese Panda, the model is already much loved

We could jokingly call it the Japanese Panda, but it is a model that actually wants to have its own identity and positioning, it is a compact car, agile in the city and economical. Perfect for families and with an attractive design with its squared shapes but with rounded corners.

However, unlike the Fiat Panda, we can say that it has dimensions, with its 4.3 meters and being able to accommodate up to 7 people, it is positioned in the minivan segment and this certainly makes the difference. But now you will surely want to know what car we are talking about! This is the Toyota Sienta.

A compact minivan with a price accessible to all

The Toyota Sienta certainly may have some similarities in appearance with the Panda, but in its use and versatility they are different, certainly its dimensions speak for themselves and also the two additional seats they are placed in the trunkfolded when not needed.

The new Toyota Sienta model, now in its third generation, features an engine full hybrid composed of 1.5 Dynamic Force combined with the 80 HP electric unit thus giving the possibility of having an average consumption of 28.8 km/l in the WLTC cycle. This, however, is not the only solution, in fact there are two other engines that can be requested, including an all-wheel drive E-Four with rear electric motor and a 1.5 non-hybrid version with Direct Shift-CVT transmission. But let’s get to the price, it is possible to take the Toyota Sienta home for 14,278 euros. Not bad!
