Second place for Toyota (+45% and 78,828 cars), which precedes BMW (65,844 cars and +25%) and Skoda (+17% and 61,317 license plates). Great growth for Volvo, which recorded +62% and 34,131 cars.

THE ELECTRICS – In April market share of battery electric vehicles (DRINK) grew by only 0.3 percentage points, going from 13.1% in April 2023 to 13.4% last month; this is much lower than the increases recorded in 2023.

BMW ON THE SHIELDS – Looking at the dynamics of the electric market, Volkswagen dominated the sector in April, despite recording a 7% drop in volumes compared to the same month last year. THE CHINESE – Chinese companies are still struggling to establish themselves in Europe, with a share that has gone from 2.22% in April last year to 2.35% of the same month of 2024. The result of the BYD, which registered 2,746 units last month, overtaking brands such as Cupra, Nissan and Toyota to become the 15th best-selling brand in the BEV ranking. But MG still reigns supreme, accounting for 68% of the 25,360 total units registered by Chinese brands last month.
