Incentives within a few days, assures Urso

The Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso.

Incentives within a few days: “We are in the final stages”
“I believe that we are now at the final stages in the sense that all the administrations that had to share them have signed them and therefore I imagine that in the next few days the incentive plan will be published in the official gazette”. Thus the Minister for Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso on the sidelines of the work of the 2024 Assembly of Confcooperative. “The production of cars in our country does not fully respond to the needs of those who want to buy a car because the differential is very large between 450,000 cars produced in Italy, very often for export, and one million and a half of registered cars. There is a very wide gap between the market, between market demands and the production capacities of the factories that exist in our country,” explained Urso. “The incentive plan we have created – added Urso – is an Italian plan because it aims to scrap the most polluting cars, we still have 11 million highly polluting cars in our country, the oldest car fleet in Europe, and therefore make car circulation more sustainable and the urban environments in which we live more pleasant and environmentally correct. As for electric cars, last year I believe that around 2% of Chinese electric cars were able to use the incentives.”

“Bonuses designed for those who cannot afford an eco-friendly car today”

The incentives are aimed “at Italian citizens and above all at those who cannot afford to buy an ecologically sustainable car. In fact, in our incentive plan the resources are graduated so that they go to a greater extent for the lower classes”. So it is an Italian plan because it makes the environment around us healthier, if we want, by supporting the scrapping of older and therefore more polluting cars, which are very often owned by the working classes, that is, by those who do not can afford to change cars. For this reason we have graduated the incentives which are intended to a greater extent for those more polluting cars and for those with a lower income. At the same time they are formulated in such a way that they are in fact directed towards the models mainly produced in our country
