Alfa Romeo Junior: its performances will determine the future of the Biscione

The new compact SUV was presented on April 10th Alfa Romeo Junior which at 4.17 meters is the smallest model among those present in the Biscione car manufacturer’s range. This vehicle was at the center of controversy and debate due to the sensational change of name it was the protagonist of given that it was initially called Milano but then in the end it was decided to change the name to that of Junior which apparently was the second on the list among those taken into consideration for this model.

Whether in the future there will be a new Duetto, a new GTV or a successor to the Giulietta much will depend on the success of Alfa Romeo Junior on the market

For a few days the entire Alfa Romeo Junior range has been available to order in Italy. We start from 29,900 euros for the entry level version, i.e. the hybrid version with three-cylinder engine PureTech 1.2 liters and 136 horsepower. This car is produced on CMP platform in Poland in Tychy which obviously raised a lot of controversy as it was the first car from the Alfa Romeo car manufacturer to be produced outside of national borders.

Alfa Romeo Junior’s performance on the market will largely determine the future of the Biscione car manufacturer. If it’s true as he said the CEO of Alfa Romeo Learned that this car will represent around 50 percent of Biscione’s global sales in the future, it is clear that its success or failure will determine a large part of the fortunes of the premium brand of the Stellantis group. Obviously Tonale, which is doing very well, and the future Giulia and Stelvio will also have an important role, but it is undeniable that Junior will be decisive from this point of view.

Simply put, if in the future we will have the chance to see a new Duetto, a new GTV and maybe even Juliet’s heir it will depend on the performance of the compact SUV which in Alfa Romeo’s intentions should allow the brand to recover part of the sales lost with the farewell first to MiTo and then to Giulietta. We will therefore see how things will go on the market for Alfa Romeo Junior and whether its arrival in the Alfa Romeo range will be a success as many hope.
