The new Telepass tariffs will come into force from 1 July 2024, tariffs that have caused many users to turn up their noses given the significant increase in the monthly cost. Suffice it to say that the Basic plan, the entry level, will increase by 113%. However, the Mundys group company tries to sweeten the pill, offering 12 months at no fee for users intending to cancel the subscription.
By contacting customer service by phone or filling out the appropriate form on the official website, a Telepass operator will contact the user, offering a free one-year extension of the contract currently in force. When the promotion expires, the fee applied will be that provided by the new rates.
More services, even with the Basic plan, but the costs have increased
From next July, Telepass’ commercial offer will be simpler – with only two subscription plans and one pay-per-use – but also more expensive. The Basic plan, which in addition to electronic tolls will also include the possibility of paying for access to Area C in Milan, the ferry on the Strait of Messina, parking in affiliated car parks and parking in the blue lines, in fact, it will go from 1.83 euros to 3.90 euros per month.
Same price, but only until December 2025, for the more substantial Plus package. A package which, in addition to including what is already included in the Basic subscription, also adds a plethora of services linked to the payment of fuel, public transport, trains, planes and ski pass.
The offer is completed by the new Pay-per-use rate, which will cost 1 euro per day. It should be underlined that it will also be possible to use the same services as the Basic plan, but use will involve an additional outlay of 1 euro per day. In summary, therefore, the electronic toll involves the expense of 1 euro per day, the additional services require the payment of an additional euro per day.
The Young tariff will then arrive in the next few months, clearly dedicated to young people, which will have no subscription or daily charge. The company has not yet released information about this subscription.
Finally, we remind you that since these are changes implemented unilaterally, subscribers will be able to withdraw from the contract without costs.
