A new blow is coming for motorists, from this year forget about saving something on the inspection, the Government is still beating them.
There car inspection it’s an operation mandatory imposed by the rules present in Traffic Laws to protect every road user. To review periodically our vehicle allows us to verify that all its components work as they should and, therefore, we can ensure road safety for us and for other road users.
Since this is a mandatory operation we cannot avoid doing it, but the historical moment in which we are living puts us in great economic difficulties. In fact, the expenses that every owner of a motor vehicle faces per year are really high exorbitant and the cost of car inspection is not at all insignificant.
This is an expensive thing to do increase spending of the owner who during the check the mechanic discovers that there are some repairs to do. Since every single part of the machine must work perfectly, we cannot avoid spending when necessary. Unfortunately, however, the costs of every aspect of our lives have increased and the world of motoring is also affected.
Vehicle owners were brought to their knees by inflation and many have found themselves forced to having to give up their independence that the car can offer. From this year we can forget about saving a few euros on the MOT, given the decision made by Government which affects drivers’ budgets.
Review, a drain on everyone
In the years 2021, 2022 And 2023 motorists were able to breathe a sigh of relief and calm their nerves regarding the costs of car inspections. This is because it was precisely in those years the bonus for the revision is valid. However, this 2024 which started a few months ago does not seem to be as favorable as previous years.
In fact, the Government has decided to do not confirm the car inspection bonus again for this 2024 creating general panic among motorists at the mercy of numerous car-related expenses. Nowadays owning a vehicle is a luxury which few can afford and this latest choice taken by the Government has certainly not helped this sector.
Goodbye car inspection bonus
The current Budget Law he decided to do not renew the car inspection bonus which had been made valid in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and to let it expire on December 31, 2023. This bonus was available to owners of motor vehicles who underwent the mandatory inspection required by thearticle 80, paragraph 8of the CdS.
The car inspection bonus could be used only once and for a single vehicle and even though it was so restrictive, it made a big difference in every motor vehicle owner’s total budget. Now that the bonus has not been renewed by decision of the Government, motorists are suffering theyet another blow regarding expenses relating to the car.
