Big news from Ford. A model changes its look and transforms in the name of power and speed
Always a protagonist in series automotive production, Ford he never forgot his connection to sport. Which often sees it excel in the GT category endurance series, or put the Asian giants in difficulty in the World Rally Championship.
The newly launched model places emphasis on this racing character, without however giving up its everyday purpose. When you look at it, it’s also striking coloring called Azura Blue, with High Gloss Back highlights and the internal parts in Motion Blue.
It is the new Focus ST Edition, a five-door sedan available only in a trim that includes a six-speed manual gearbox. By pressing the gas to the maximum you can reach 250 km/h. Optional packages can be purchased to further improve performance, such as the Driver Assist Pack which consists of adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring and lane keeping.
Ford increasingly sporty, details on the new edition
For the new one Focus ST Edition, the American company has worked a lot on the suspension, made adjustable and tested on particularly challenging terrain including the Nurburgring track in Germany. Optimized by the company’s Performance department, they feature a regulation system created by the industry-leading company KW Automotive, with double-tube stainless steel shock absorbers and powder-coated coil springs.
From this point of view, the greater ground crushing capacity stands out, we are talking about 50% more than the stock versions, with a reduction of the air from the ground by an extra 20%. Overall, the stems can assume twelve different positions in compression and sixteen in extension.
The manufacturer’s choice to rely on the aftermarket for some components and not the official market deserves a small aside. The wheels are 19-inch alloys and allow a reduction in unsprung mass of 10%. The tires are Pirelli P Zero Corsa which, as you can understand, express themselves best on the track.
Worthy of note is the 675W audio system developed by Bang&Olufusen, with as many as ten speakers and a subwoofer. If you prefer the Winter Pack you will be able to enjoy the heated windshield instead. The price is 41,650 euros. On promotion the price drops to 36,650.
