800 HP and 312 km/h

Urus is a very important model for Lamborghinis. Now, an important new chapter in its history opens for this SUV with the arrival of the new Plug-in version. The new one officially debuts at the Beijing Motor Show Lamborghini Urus SE which can count on 800 HP and an electric range of 60 km.

EXTERIORS AND INTERIORS

The innovations are not only at the engine level as the Urus SE presents updated lines. Moreover, spy photos in recent months had already made it clear that some changes to the design would be coming. The new SUV presents a series of stylistic innovations that they recall the Revuelto. The bumper, the front grille and the headlights are new, equipped with Matrix LED technology, which introduce a new light signature inspired by the tail of the Lamborghini brand’s Bull.

The rear has been redesigned. We find Y-shaped light clusters and a new diffuser which together with the new spoiler allows the load to be increased by 35% at high speeds compared to the Urus S. In this way it was possible to improve the stability of the car. Lamborghini has it anyway optimized all aerodynamics of his SUV.

Aerodynamic efficiency has improved by 15% compared to the Urus also thanks to new air outlets on the bottom and renewed aerodynamic ducts, which convey a greater flow of air to cool the mechanical parts and the engine. Furthermore, the work on the front and bottom has made it possible to improve the management of the flows dedicated to the braking system with a 30% improvement compared to the previous system.

Lamborghini also made one available new range of alloy wheels with the introduction of the 23-inch Galanthus model combined as standard with new Pirelli P Zero tires. Obviously, like all Lamborghini models, multiple customization options are also available for the new Urus SE. The automaker talks about Over 100 body options, including two new colors proposed at launch: Egon Orange, combined with the Apodis Orange interior, and Sapphirus White with Terra Kedros interiors. The interiors offer 47 color combinations and four types of embroidery including the exclusive Q-citura, to which is added the possibility of accessing the Ad Personam programwhich allows you to make your Urus SE unique.

And speaking of the passenger compartment, the dashboard has been revised and features a design inspired by that of the Revuelto. Behind the wheel we find him 12.3-inch digital instrument screen. In the center of the dashboard, however, there is a 12.3-inch touch display of the infotainment system which can count on a new graphical interface. From the infotainment you can also access telemetry and new displays relating to the driving assistance systems. The air vents have also been revised and there is no shortage of new coverings for the panels, seats and dashboard.

MOTOR

The most important news is the introduction of the new Plug-in powertrain. We have a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 combined with an electric unit and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Overall, available there are 800 HP (588 kW) and 950 Nm of torque (weight/power ratio: 3.13 KgCV). In terms of performance, the Urus SE accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 312 km/h. Data that make SE the most powerful Urus ever.

The electrical unit is powered by a battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh, located below the loading floor and above the electronically controlled rear differential. In electric mode it is possible to travel over 60 km. On the Urus SE there is a new continuously electronically controlled central transfer case with electro-hydraulically regulated multi-plate clutch: positioned centrally, it distributes the driving torque in a variable and continuous way between the front and rear axles. It works in synergy with the new electronically controlled self-locking differential installed on the rear axle.

In the center of the console we find the selector that allows you to select the different driving modes. The six driving modes of the Urus are combined with four new Electric Performance Strategies (EPS) for a total of eleven combinations. In detail, the EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Recharge strategies are added to the Road, Sport and Racing modes (for use on road and track), Snow, Sand and Terra (for surfaces with different grip on the asphalt).

Depending on the mode set, the car’s height from the ground changes, varying from -15 mm in the Corsa up to +75 mm when the lifting system is activated compared to the normal road setting, in addition to the parameters that regulate steering, handling, mapping and sound of the twin-turbo V8. Particular attention was paid to the calibration of the air suspension, to emphasize each driving mode.
