The situation at the plant does not appear to be improving Stellantis Mirafiori. In fact, in recent hours it has been announced that production will stop until August 6th, the day on which the summer holidays begin. Consequently, the solidarity contract for 1,200 employees is arriving. Stellantis is expected to offer these on Monday 1,200 employees a 20% cut on their salary. This should be the same one offered to employees working on the Maserati line until the end of the year. In this case the workers who work on the production line are involved Fiat 500e whose question still seems to be struggling.

Therefore the risk that the plant will remain closed until the end of the year is high. In fact, this production stop is scheduled until August 6th, the day on which the summer holidays begin. What will happen in the autumn is not yet clear but if things continue like this, a stop until the end of the year seems like a real possibility. At the moment the only solution found by the CEO Carlos Tavares for the Stellantis Mirafiori plant it is a 100 million investment for a new Fiat 500e which will cost less and have greater autonomy.
At the moment, however, it is not clear how long it will be before this car arrives on the production line. For the unions, however, this will not be enough to save Stellantis Mirafiori. The arrival of at least another model or the thermal version of the Fiat 500 is necessary to bring the site’s car production back to at least 200 thousand a year.
Obviously this situation of great uncertainty is favoring incentivized exit from work. Many employees have decided to accept the proposals of Stellantis which has foreseen over 1,500 redundancies for Mirafiori. If things continue like this, it is likely that the employees intending to leave their jobs early could even be more than the 1,520 redundancies expected by the automotive group.
