Luigi Del Vecchio – Ostuni an unsuspected presence

Ostuni. December 21, 2017. Christmas is upon us. The preparations for the festive days are looming, the streets are a swarm of illuminated shops, pizzica melodies, scents of exquisite pleasure, chasing loves. The discovery of the body of an old loan shark with a sea urchin stuck in his throat, inside a deconsecrated church, shakes the city. The case is entrusted to Commissioner Vito Berlingieri. The dynamics through which the murder occurred immediately appear complex; four other cruel murders will follow one another in a rapid vortex in which Berlingieri initially seems to be floundering, until the day his eyes discover what they never imagined they would see.

In the post-covid era, a young woman who claims to be Anna Magnani was emergency admitted to a hospital in Florence. He looks like her like a drop of water, talks and laughs like her. Under the empathetic gaze of doctors, nurses and residents who passionately follow the stories of the icon of neorealist cinema, the woman soon becomes the undisputed protagonist of the hospital: she calls herself Nannarella and hypotheses and beliefs that border on “unreality”, but… the shocking truth is well hidden behind those dark eyes.

She is haunted in every corner of the house by her memories, she realizes that the apathy, the emotional disconnection that helped her live away from Tenuta Ornella, is just a way to defend herself and not suffer.
