The book. “Alpha Male. The Return of the Playboy”, Grasselli presents it

On Thursday 27 June, starting from 7.00 pm, at the DiVino wine shop in via del Guazzatoio 12/b (Reggio Emilia), the new novel by Pier Francesco Grasselli “MASCHIO ALFA Il Ritorno del Playboy” will be presented for the first time together with the collection of stories “La Bambola”, recently published by the author for the historic Piombino publishing house Il Foglio di Gordiano Lupi.

Between a spicy reading and a glass of wine, readers will be able to dialogue with the author. It will also be possible to purchase previous books and “stock up” for the summer holidays.

Alpha Male: Return of the Playboy

Will it be the book of the summer? The conditions are there. Pier Francesco Grasselli’s latest novel, Maschio Alfa: The Return of the Playboy, the grand finale of the new trilogy composed of I Maschilisti. Erotic Autobiography and Psycholove is already available in Amazon’s online stores. A title that says it all and a very spicy story that promises to be another challenge thrown down by the author of All’Inferno I’m Going in a Porsche (Mursia, 2007) to political correctness.

«It is a novel with strong colours, even more than the previous ones» declares Grasselli, who has already published twenty-five books with various publishers including Mursia, Pendragon, Gruppo Macro and Edizioni OM and who only a couple of months ago gave the prints a collection of short stories, La Bambola, published by Edizioni Il Foglio, a publishing house founded by the Piombino writer Gordiano Lupi. “I’m serious. In comparison, The Maschilists is a delicate book. Alpha Male: The return of the Playboy stands as a provocation to that kind of exasperated and exasperating feminism that demonizes the male just because he is male. It’s also a nice “fuck you” to political correctness and to Cancel Culture always ready to label the heterosexual alpha male as toxic. Finally, the novel is a hymn to natural masculinity and femininity in these dark and ambiguous times where acceptance and inclusiveness have turned into dangerous propaganda that confuses young people about their sexual orientation.”

The plot. After a disastrous relationship with an elusive and troubled businesswoman, a bachelor writer goes through a period of deep depression and decides to turn to a psychologist. The doctor’s prescription is bizarre. To heal and recover the joy of living, the patient will have to take fifty girls to bed, as young and pretty as possible. Thus begins the tour de force of the protagonist of this entertaining erotic and sentimental novel, the latest undertaking of the incorrigible seducer who we have already seen at work in the previous films Fuck Love, Tromba Daria, I Maschilisti and Psycholove.

Set between New York, Portofino and Rome, as well as in his native Reggio Emilia, this new work by Pier Francesco Grasselli is a raw, provocative and non-conformist novel, which will appeal to those who are fed up with what the writer calls “the dictatorship of do-goodism” .

This time, however, there is something new: Alpha Male: The Return of the Playboy is not just a novel, but also a useful review of practical advice, taken from the author’s personal experience and that of famous conquerors of female hearts, to seduce women in the 21st century. In fact, Grasselli combines the narration of personal experiences with passages in which he summarizes the seduction techniques of the most famous playboys of yesterday and today, their approaches and the characteristics that allowed these alpha males to stand out among others and fascinate women.

«This novel presents even more violent and counter-current contents than the previous ones, in total contrast to the hyper-feminist, demasculinizing and pro-LGBT trends imposed by the mainstream» declares the author again.

A novel in full Pier Francesco Grasselli style, in short, in which Italy’s most controversial author takes a lot of stone off his feet. «Those who have followed my weekly column on Sex in the City, the radio program hosted by Alberto Zanni on Radio Millennium, know that I am not too subtle in expressing my opinions» observes the writer. «Well, even in this book I say – or rather, I write – the things I think without looking anyone in the face, without censoring myself in any way, highlighting the absurdities of today’s world from the pandemic onwards.»

Curious note: the novel comes out with two different covers: the first, hand-drawn like those of the previous volumes by Silvano Scolari, artist and teacher of the Comics School of Reggio Emilia, Disney and Marvel illustrator; the second created by X Studio Design.

«Readers will be able to choose the cover they prefer» states the writer. «The first, classic, is in continuity with the style of the covers of the previous chapters of the trilogy. The second is more arrogant and brazen, and even more annoying, combined with the title, for a certain type of readers affected by the disease of political correctness and the heterophobia of today.»

Alpha Male: Playboy Returns comes out in time for the holidays. In fact, it seems to be a perfect beach read: spicy, funny and irreverent. Will it become the book of the summer? We will see.
