Tolmezzo, after the success of “Vie dei Libri”, with over 3 thousand attendees, is already working on the 2025 edition. Which will have many new features.
The second edition of the Tolmezzo Vie dei Libri Festival ended with a success with the public: over 3 thousand visitors, from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th June, for meetings, visits to museums, walks and entertainment events on the program of the event, promoted bymunicipal administration of Tolmezzo with the support of Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia – Department of Cultureedited by Pordenonelegge.it Foundation.
A Festival which, for three days, wanted to talk about the mountains and its future through books, unfolding stories and stories visions linked to the care of people and the environmentto the charm of nature and its scents and flavors, to innovation and to tourism that respects places. About thirty events called to intensely mark the weekend, following the main path of books and with authors of reference at a national level, by Matteo Compass and Donato Carrisifrom Concita De Gregorio to Vito MancusoGiampiero MughiniTullio AvoledoFrank FaggianiAngel FloramoEleanor MatarreseMarcus Albinus Ferrari.
Special mention for the turnout at the meetings of Vito Mancuso and Angelo Floramosold out like the event linked to the “most mysterious book in the world”, told by the ethnobotanist Eleonora Mattarrese, for whom many spectators also arrived from outside the region. And together with the authors their works were also rewarded, with hundreds of books purchased in just 3 days.
If the artistic director of pordenonelegge Gian Mario Villalta he declared himself fully satisfied with the quality and sensitivity of the proposed interventions and the polyphony of voices that met in Tolmezzo, the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Tolmezzo Laura D’Orlando he underlined the strength of an overall balance, “linked to the response to the meetings but not only: the public also rewarded the collateral events, such as the “Books with taste” event, which accompanied the festival in the name of tastings. AND the special turnout of the weekend was reflected in the restaurants and public establishments of the historic center“.
All eyes on the third edition.
A second edition which has renewed the success of the first program and already allows us to look to the future: “The 3rd edition of Tolmezzo Vie dei Libri is already scheduled for 13 to 15 June 2025, – anticipates Councilor D’Orlando – but there is one novelty important, an added value that could become an identity element for the city, from a cultural point of view: “Vie dei libri”, in fact, will become a real “format”, a recurring literary path that will accompany the historical events of Tolmezzo, from the Borgat Festival to the Apple Festivalaccompanying the events from time to time with proposals and meetings. Streets of books all year roundin short, and with a look also outside the city, thanks to a project that will connect us to Slovenia with a program of cultural initiatives linked to authors”.
